The color is a bricky ruby, closer to garnet; medium plus intensity. The nose is clean, medium plus to pronounced in intensity, with mostly black berries and black cherries. The nose is developing. The palate is dry, with medium plus acidity, medium alcohol at 13.5% and medium plus tannins. The body and flavor intensity are medium plus, with a nice mediumn plus finish. This wine is surprisingly youthful given its age and apperance. The nose is just captiviating. Drinkeable now, but this is likely to improve with several more years of cellaring. More of a food wine than a cocktail wine. A good value.

Avant Partir tasting - Robert Chadderdon Imports (Hinton's Wine Store): Bricky ruby. Dark cherry, mild oak. Long, persistent acidity, juicy cherry, good tannic grip. Polished. Food friendly.
