Carneros cab … although they list some napa valley fruit also used. 10 years cellared. Years ago when I tasted this wine at the winery, there was a predominant expression of roasted green peppers on the nose and the palate. Low and behold, the same dominant note is still there except slightly less intense. As such, I always felt that the Madonna Estate cab would perfect to pair with a pizza and thats what I did. Very mild on fruit and mostly earth and a savory vegatable essence. This wine is definitely not your typical Napa / Sonoma cab. It scored just Ok with my guests.

50 + 5 + 12 + 13 + 6 = 86. Translucent ruby. Smokey oakey vanilla on the nose. Smooth peppery taste with nice tannins on the finish and a bit of acidity. Not much fruit or as full a flavor. Definitely not a bad wine. Paired with pesto ravioli's, which was probably not the best mix.
