Much better integration of oak from my other bottle back in '12. Medium garnet in color. Aromas of dark and dark red fruits, chocolate, earth, licorice, and dried spice drawer. Medium(+) body and finish, medium acid, and flavors largely in agreement, but with a touch of maple syrup as well. Glad I held onto this one, although it seems like it's maybe in its last few years at this point. 88-89

Ho hum Merlot. Nothing bad about it, but many at $5 less that are the same. Dark blue fruit with dominating tannins. Not as supple as a great Merlot can be.

Good, deep ruby color. Terribly disjointed, hot and oaky on the pop. With an hour or so of air, the alcohol seems to mostly dissipate, and the oak does integrate, but never quite fully. Nose of dark red fruit, leather, green pepper, and oak. Medium bodied with dark red fruit, oak, and a touch of alcohol on the palate. Medium+ finish. Chalky but mellow tannins. Alright, but over-oaked.

A nose of dark berries and spice, dark purple in color. A medium to full bodied Merlot, with cherries, blackberry, cinnamon, and spice, a good easy drinking red.

lacks depth, too much oak.
