In many ways this is a wild uninhibited Beaujolais true to the Chermette style. Personally I think it's got plenty of time in hand. Do I like it? To be honest I'm not sure.........

Quite a disappointment considering all the hype over the 2009 vintage. Visually I was stoked, because just two weeks ago I had the 2007 vintage of the same wine and was blown away. This wine was much darker and cloudier in appearance. The nose was almose undetectable initially. Upon the last two glasses at the two hour mark, red fruits emerged led by cherry and cranberry. Structually the wine is pitch perfect. A touch of fruit on the tip of the tongue, noticible tannin along the mid-palate and a good acid bath to clean up the relatively lengthy finish. Maybe a decant was in order. And this is really good Gamay. I just had high expectations considering my experience with the '07.

A real treat. As others have said: this is more interesting than typical Beaujolais. Rich fruit and the structures finish are really nice.

While not a profound wine, it was extremely enjoyable and wonderfully balanced. A treat, although I'm not sure how it will age.
