Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 94 points

  • Opened at 4:00 beautiful ruby color, serious funk on the nose remained after 30 minutes, into a decanter. Four hours later the funk blew off to reveal layers of fresh red fruits, nice floral notes, earth. Mid weight, good acidity, resolved tannins, silky texture, nice finish.
This was the best of the other 1999 Gambal wines recently tasted, NSG Vaucrains, Chapelle Chambertin, Charmes Chambertin
