  This is just an excellent bottle of Santa Ynez Marsanne/Roussanne from Qupe. The nose is very distinctive, floral and reminiscent of freshly peeled clementine. For an '08 white, this is still very much alive and vibrant. Layers of orange zest, orange marmalade, apricot, ripe peach and a touch of salinity mix with medium plus acidity.

  Aroma of honeysuckle and Heineken skunk. Clean flavors of minerals and citrus, with apricot appearing in the medium finish. Full flavored with decent balance - but it needs more of a backbone. That said, I like this quite a bit.

  I really like this wine! It is not the most complex or classic but very charming and well made; marzipan nose with citrus marmalade, palate is clean and refreshing. there is weight but much more elegance than in a wine where the lees have been excessively punched down. This weight is from ripe mature fruit.
