Appearance: Clear, medium(+) lemon. Clean nose of pronounced intensity, developing. Aroma characteristics: ripe green-, citrus- and dried stonefruit (pear juice, lemon peel, dried apricots) with marked florality (musky perfume, elderflower), a honeyed ripeness, subtle (buttery) oak and mineral transparency. Dry (towards off-dry) on the palate with medium(+) level of acidity. Medium alcohol, full-bodied. Pronounced intensity. Aroma characteristics are repeated on the palate. Soft, viscous mouthfeel. Long finish.
Quite impressive stuff. A good alternative to a full-bodied, alsacian pinot gris or a very ripe - even slightly botrytis-affected - chenin blanc. Ready to drink, but will keep. 91/100

PAWS Chef's Table Dinner (Rittenhouse): to my knowledge, this is the first time i have had a wine from slovenia... though this is right across the Italian border. this was a revelation. the nose showed lots of floral character, along with some roux and raw nuts. the best part of this wine was the mouthfeel -- it was this oily feel that i cannot fully describe -- really fantastic as it hit high points all over the mouth. flavors showed of ripe red apple, violets, and a little plum. medium finish. paired with tuna stuffed peppers.

(Movia Veliko Belo) 70% Ribolla, 20% Pinot Sivi (Grigio), 10% Sauvignon Blanc. With a nose of candied fruit and acacia flowers, this full-bodied white features almond and hazelnut notes, mixed with lemon chiffon to round out a long finish. Winery Spotlight: Movia
