Wow! 26 yrs old and still drinking like it’s in its prime. Plenty of dark fruit - plum, blueberry, a hint of cedar. Cork broke on opening but no leakage. Great example of what Napa can deliver w age b

I just finished my last bottle. Still wonderful. Did not need that hour-long initial decant as in past bottles. Very sweet up front. The wine had made it all the way to the top of the cork but the wine was still delicious. Mellowed out after about 2 hours. A great retrospective to 1997.

This is the last of four bottles. The last one was corked so I was nervous. This was still a humongous fruity drink. Surprisingly ageless. I expected it to be more subdued and austere. No way. Huge cherry and blackberry and spice on the nose. Aerated it and after an hour still a powerhouse. If you have some, enjoy them.

Last 2 bottles
First one cork crumbled, second there was seepage.
The one with seepage was the fresher of the two although both weren't undrinkable they underwent a tad bit too much oxidation.
I suspect perfectly preserved bottles are worth going after as in my first note but as something with 22+ years on it, buyer beware.

Brickish in color and not as red as the prior bottle.
At first I thought it started off well with intense cherry that later gave way to leather and secondary flavors.
But there seemed to a tad too much oxidation over the 22 years this bottle been cellared.
I hope my other bottles are fine.
