Popped and poured. Cork was in great condition and the color of the wine gave no indication of it's advancing years. The first half an hour, there was a hint of VA that distracted from the wine. This blew off and allowed more interesting notes to shine through. Aromas of potpourri, soft salted caramels that were cooked just into the darker stage, blackberry and roasted game meat. The palate had more blackberry, minerals and fire roasted plums. Clean finish, though I was hoping it would last a bit longer. Balanced acidity, medium weight on the mouth feel. Still going strong. Would purchase again.

Shockingly good bottle of wine. This wine smelled great and tasted better. There was very little oak present which suprised me. Now this is the way a good syrah should taste.

Last bottle and the best. Deep rich blackberries, black plums and figs stretch from the attack through the finish and are supported by smoky tarry syrah essence, roasted herbs and game notes. This also still had that gorgeous tarry/gamey/floral syrah nose. One of my favorite (and there aren't many of them) Washington wines.

This lovely wine has smoothed out over the last two years and still has a long ways to go. It has a great nose with smoky black syrah fruit, cracked pepper, and a very appealing earthiness. All of the characteristics that Greenblanket has enjoyed over the last several years are melding into a seamless balanced whole in the mouth. This is how great wine is supposed to develop in the bottle. Kurt Schlicker continues to be one of only a small handful of Washington State wine makers offering consistently well made wine year in and year out. Outstanding
