Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 86 points

  • On the one hand, impressive that alive and a decent drink; on the other an indictment of the producer that they can only mimic NsGeorge's rigour - via use of green, rustic tannins. A busy, if not pretty, nose: burnt strawberry, old wood, oil, faint mulberry, summer jam, over-ripe red currant, aniseed, and back to the old wood. Traces of some better stuff: tobacco, spice and animal. Some volatility. A largely missing midpalate, and then those green underripe tannins. The crew covered all the bases before reaching Burgundy and declaring themselves rather appalled. I must honestly say I think it would have been pleasant as an everyday drink with food. 86.
