I've paid twice as much for zins I've enjoyed half as well. Not huge on the nose but delightful in the mouth with a jammy balance of blackberry, pepper and some Prince Albert. I got very little heat, maybe it's mellowing a touch with time.

Deep purple color. Lovely bouquet of blackberries and toffee and spices. Vibrant fruit up front, with black cherries and blackberries, then white peppercorns leading in to a good long finish. The 15% alcohol is balanced by the fruit making this a mouth-filling glassful to enjoy on its own or with a good steak.

great taste and nose; full and smooth; prominent dark fruit including blackberry; mild tannins; slight black licorice.

Lovely stuff, rich full bodied, beautiful nose, smooth tannins now, jammy but that's how I like it. Wish I had stocked up on this one, darn.

Overall very nice. Jammy, but not generic zin. Smooth blackberries and smoke. I'd definitely pick up another bottle.
