Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind (Chicago, IL): Served double blind to the tasting group. Half thought this Burgundy, which surprised me, but it clearly shows graceful aging, which isn't the hallmark of most US Pinot, Rich black and red cherry with very good overall balance and enough structure to keep it bright, fresh and long. Well done.

This has got to be one of the very best Pinots I've ever had....it was absolutely scrumptious! Great nose; still a beautiful color in spite of its age; had wonderful flavors of cherry and strawberry, very fruity, full bodied with layers of activity going on all over the place...wow; my wife even remarked that she thought it was over the top in flavor and complexity!

Pours an opaque purple. Nose of purple fruits, band-aid and some heat.
A big, dense Pinot with boysenberry flavors and a nice spicy streak. A touch of earth present on the lingering finish. Plenty of acidity, but feels like this wine is on the downslope. Would drink now.

Fruit is fading but still surpassed expectations. Tasted alongside 2 other 2002 Oregon pinots and this was unquestionably superior. Cherry, dried fruit flavors, no tannins, medium body.

Medium-bodied, but very round, ripe flavours of cherries and puréed strawberries, milk chocolate. Not much complexity, rather sweet.
