Smooth, very polished, very gemacht, but no flaws here, business class wine, balanced on its own terms. As a wine quite forgetable, like a smooth politician - although you have to respect the skill.

Had another bottle of this with friends and was not as impressed as I had been with the previous one (bottle variation?). Nose was still very good with the cedary aromas of a Bordeaux, but the palate had a more abrupt, clipped finish...and the wood tasted more prominent than I remember with the previous bottle...it did improve over 2 1/2 hours, but I cannot give it more than an 85.

Bought this at a tasting of various bordeauxs. Mostly merlot...nose is very promising--showing signs of cedar box and some tobacco leaf. Palate doesn't quite live up to the nose but just quite. Full-bodied and juicy with silky tannins and it did improve over 2 hours. This is certainly made in the "new world" style, but show me one cali merlot that smells like this! Very enjoyable and should improve with age.

S found bright cherry. I thought it was dense, complex.
