Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Translucent strawberry-red color (classic color of barolo/barbaresco), viscous; non-distinct nose at first, a hint of strawberries, but opened over an hour to reveal complexity--notes of wet clay, flowers and strawberries (should have de-canted for a couple of hours). First impression in the mouth was acid, (typical barbera VA?) but with air and time the structure really aligned, the acidity softened, became refreshing and the subtle, but firm, fruit started to show, the soft texture was revealed. A classic-style; I'd have mistaken this for a barbaresco had I tasted it blind. 16.5. Would buy again.
