Dibbs's birthday: The colour had me worried - bricking and rather cloudy in appearance. A little rustic and savoury on the nose at first, but with air it gave way to a floral, rose petal nose. Bit simple and sweet without much interest on the palate but the acidity kicked in after a couple of hours. Not an earth shattering 30 year old Burgundy GC experience but still very pleasant.

Quintessential aged grand cru burg structure with mid-palate weight and a strong, elegant finish. At first glance, the wine looked older than 1990. But fantastic on the palate with acidity, a tad bit sweetness and elegant fruits interplaying with each other. This evolved throughout the course of the dinner and some found it more pleasing as it lost a bit of sweetness.
