cork had slipped into neck, light amber tinge in colour. delicate, refined but forceful nose of almonds, flowers, subtle fruit gradually improved. On the palate it slowly expanded and improved as aired and warmed to become quite delicious. Was better in its prime but still outstanding. beautiful balance, drinking marvelously at the moment. very fine, long aftertaste. The wine is intense and fairly weighty, but not as much so as the best producers

Very deep color but fantastic multi-layered nose of butterscotch, burnt toast, almonds and white flowers. On the palate this needed a few minutes to find its feet but once it did it stayed there for a good half an hour with lovely weight. Grand old lady with that Montrachet regalness that commanded respect. Would have been better in its prime but certainly no slouch.

Very well stored bottle. Still only light gold in color. As the wine warmed the nosed exuded the aroma of coffee, lemon, and creme brulee. It displayed impeccable balance for its age and while not going to get any better, is drinking beautifully as the moment. Ample acidity provide tremendous drive on the palate. The wine retains an almost youthful intensity. Brilliant.

Taste off between Alex and PC (Classified Exchange Square): Very toasty and smoky. A little too dry and acidic

Burnt fat and ripe pears. Quite acidic. The wine has lost much of its fruit.
