I had this with grilled Tri-tip on 7/8/15. It had a deep, powerful bouquet of black cherry, black currant, expresso, burnt toast, char, cocoa, mocha, licorice and spice aromas. The palate was dense, full and powerful with flavors of black cherry, char, burnt toast, cocoa, licorice and spice. 92+

Wow. One of the best cabs we have had in a while. Big but smooth and elegant palate of black cherry and chocolate. Nose was amazing as well with fruit and coffee along with notes of violets

Pop and pour - bad mistake, though it was interesting. Initially it exploded on your palate with sweet Jammy fruit. Seemed almost Aussie at first, but then it mellows out quite a bit. After some air it becomes quite nice. Cassis, blackberry, caramel, earth, and sweet spices on the nose. Dark berries, cassis, red fruit, and mellow oak on the palate. Quite dense in texture. Very good acidity. Long finish. Powerful wine. I can see why people rate it so highly. For me, it was excellent but maybe not extraordinary. 91-92

Soft floral nose with notes of caramel and earth. The taste had classic Champoux characteristics – smoke and earth, plus a wonderful rich berry component from the 20% Cab Franc.
