Informal evening @ Roel's (Netherlands): Vegetable soup, lavas, bellpepper. Farmyardy and rustic, hidden fruit. Fresh cut herbs, dash of poop. In the mouth the fruit is better, brighter red. Chalky finish, soft tannines. Feels kinda young. Needs a few more years to find more harmony and unity.

Outstanding wine! Deep red, rich savoury aromas with animal notes. In the mouth it was smooth with an underlying backbone of tannin. The flavours were red fruit with some secondary notes developing. At only 12.5 percent alcohol this packs an enormous flavour punch. However it is most definitely a food wine. At eur 30 from a posh Paris wine merchant it wasn't cheap although compared to equivalent offerings from Bdx or Burgundy it was a steal.

taste: Medium/full feel with coarse tannins and medium/high acidity along with balanced tones of red fruits, red cherries, herbs, red currants, and some bits of dill
overall: A real good young Cab Franc. Should round out with age and be real nice. The aromatics are rather pretty right now and both the nose and palate have good depth

Weekly tasting group RWP #341; Some random wines (@ My place): In the bouquet earth, truffle, oak and vanilla. On the palate chocolate, coffee, cherries, some metal and juicy acidity. Definitely fully mature.
