Lovely developed Medoc aromas with dark fruit, herbs, stable and leather. Has melted most of the tannins that were quite evident 6 years ago, but there are still some green tannins left. The dark fruit is not so typical Margaux, and the wine actually reminds more of a St. Estephe. But, good it was, and better than 6 years ago.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #084; Margaux (By RG): The bouquet has the classical Bordeaux flavors and also something vegetal and green, animals and rustic impressions in the bouquet. On the palate not extremely concentrated, a bit green again, red and black fruits, some salty licorice, chocolate and minerals. Overall a complex and elegant wine, but not showing the finesse and concentration of the really great wines. Is in a perfect drinking stage now and that is the reason for the relatively high score. Will stay on this level for some more years.

Had expectations for a Margaux nose, but became a little disappointed. The aromas are a bit muted and marked by the tannins. The palate is feminin and silky, but with some hard tannins in the background. Otherwise, a decent Medoc. The wine has been stored in a cold cellar and probably has developed slower than most others.

Getting mature. Smooth, noticeable velvety tannins. Herbaceous, ripe blackfruits, cedar, some leather and hint of truffle and savoury.
