Pre-Christmas Dinner with Friends (Zurich): On the label it reads Grand Reserve 1921, which my friend JR, a Sauternes lover, mentioned is the Créme de Tète of the Caillou.
Tasted blind: Light amber in colour. Nose of bitter almonds and reminds also of Calvados. Nice sweetness, black tea, honey. All very balanced, elegant yet powerful. Now at its peak but I would not be surprised to see well stored bottles lasting another 20-50 years.
