shared with pat at selkirk manor celebrating the end of the work week and leap year day. paired with prime fillet, baked potato with sour cream and brussel sprouts. continue pruning the cellar of bottles with past due drink by dates. had been saving this bottle for a special occasion. started to worry about longevity even though parker review projected longevity to 2020. a complex wine with multiple flavor components providing a remarkable contrast to many other one dimensional fruit forward california pinot bottlings. red skin fruit, some spice as well as earthiness. probably at its peak developmentally. glad to have had this experience.

Rich, ripe Pinot with a luxurious mouthfeel and intense flavors of black cherry, orange peel and a hint of plum. Fine grained tannins. Not for those who only like an Old World style, but a great bottle if you also enjoy big Pinots.

Over priced and not impressed. Extracted with a plummy soy sauce flavor that dominated the wine for the first hour. It then mellowed and brought the rating to a decent level. Just not my style.

Still tons of life left in this wine. Enjoyed but still think too much alcohol as is typical of all Hobbs wines of this era.
