  • Very similar characteristics as my last note on this a couple years back, but perhaps a bit of "tiredness" beginning to show. Seems heavier, riper, more auslesen in character.

  • Full golden color; sweet nose of a honeyed old dessert riesling and bosq pear; palate not unlike a great Sauternes in that there is gravitas in the laser beam of acidity playing off some wonderful viscosity allowing beautiful honeyed fruit to linger for an amazing length of time. Conspicuously missing is the classic petrol thing (which I very much like). This wine reflects the ripe vintage as I would have guessed this to be at least the weight class of Auslesen or even further into the dessert category.
