I paid a whopping $4.99 for this bottle. Thanks to Joe Germano for alerting me that Trader Joe's had it. I like this much better than the last bottle I had. The nose shows vanilla, blackberry, and cocao. When I first tasted I was very concerned, since it tasted like Koo-Aid with a dash of pepper. After only about 20 minutes of air, it really improved. The palate is now classic Zin with vanilla, raspberry, cranberry, and pepper. The finish is simple and fairly short, but this is the best sub $5 wine I have had.

Tracy's score 75. This shows a nose stewed tomatoes, vanilla cookie, and nutmeg. I did find a green element that was more prominent for Tracy. The palate is luch with a sweet red fruit, butter and spice. I also found a touch of astringency throughout the wine.

Red Carpet: LIght ruby purple; blueberry, rasp. poppin’fresh juicy! Light soft body, berry taste in mouth, pretty fin., slightly bitter aftertaste, I thought it was good pinot noir.

Nicely aged, good fruit still. Lovely.

Still a very nice bottle that has held up well in the cellar. Light bodied but notes of huckleberries. ++!
