Darren brot this 2 Saunders. Really cool pate on nose. Tasted a lil over the hill but after opening up it had much more fruit then I expected. Really holding nicely 4 an 00 & went really well w/aged smoked cheddar!

Drank next to a bottle of Isenhower Wild Alfafa. This was a bold, ripe, more in your face style. Noticably more oak, herb and spice. Nice, but not as integrated or elegant as the Wild Alfalfa.

Nice and rich and very much a Walla Walla style wine. However, I thought this had a bit too much oak and the green pepper after taste. Possilby if I'd paired it with other food that would have been less noticable.

I opened this to go with some grilled lamb chops and garlic braised lentils. Deep and rich with a very interesting nose of blackberry and black cherry tempered by some smokey, green, herbal element I couldn't pin down. Lovely ripe, full bodied fruit with juicy acidity. Well balanced with smooth tannin on the very nice complex finish. Better than I hoped for and a great match for lamb.
