It feels like the sangiovese fruit has been asked to be something it’s not. Very ripe notes of chocolate, mocha and sweet plums combine with some quite vanillin oak. It is sweet and fleshy up front, hollow in the mid and slightly extractive and bitter on the finish, not a good food wine at all.
