WL associates advised me to give this a good decant. It ended up being 4.5 hours at room temp, which was far longer than I wanted, but no matter. I put it back in the fridge for about 30 min. to give it a chill. Color medium golden yellow, noticeably darker for an SB such that it was noticed by dinner guests. Bouquet of tangerine, lightly grilled pineapple, white peach, spice, wisp of ocean funk. On the attack the fruit is more in the background, emerging fully in the mid to reveal melon and white peach, honeyed lemon, lime, oil of orange rind, flinty minerals, a little saline. The tropical notes and richness perhaps owing to age almost seems more like chardonnay than SB. Very nice weight and structure, medium-plus finish. Everyone loved it and commented it was unlike any SB they had ever had. An excellent pairing with fresh blue crabs pulled this day from the NC sound, medium-spiced and steamed. At 29 USD, the few extra dollars you pay for a well-made aged Sancerre is worth it.

Friday night at Fabio's with the NY/NJ Crew (Fabio's NYC): Great nose with notes of orange, stone fruit and anise. Some complexity on the palate with a bit of an additional honey component. Medium body, medium high acidity and a medium long finish. Very nice wine.

Sineann wines and whole bunch of other stuff (Our home): My second time with this wine. It seems it is starting to get a bit tired or perhaps it was the setting. Still, it has some lovely mineral notes with bits of grapefruit. Nice balance. Probably got a bit over shadowed just by its style and might show better on the table by itself. No slouch though and still brings something to the party.

The nose had an interesting funk to it; the palate reminded me of smoky apple. Very crisp and smooth texture, and a long finish.

Tasted blind, I swore this was new world. Tons of grapefruit. Bright nose, I liked it.
