Absolutely stunning wine! Bought at auction at a good price, given age. Wine still looks fresh with a light yellow colour. On the nose peach, melon and a nice minerality. Hardly any signs of 14 years of age! Good acidity nicely balanced the wonderfully smooth malolactic mouthfeel and subtle oak flavours. Very long aftertaste with nice lemon aromas too. Just stays on your palate and doesn’t want to go away… absolute stunner! Given bottle age and condition this could easily be considered as a Burgundy Chardonnay in a blind tasting.

Random wine ark boys supper (Banksia, Sydney): Spice, butter, slight peach and vanilla on the nose…more sweet peach on the palate backed by cream and butter. A bit overdone and, for me, lacking a little acidity to freshen the palate

Single vineyard cool climate chardonnay tasting (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): Green apples and white flowers on the nose with some lovely funky notes as well that provide a nice complex approach. The palette is quite striking - being more mineral that the nose indicates it is going to be. The structure and texture are very good and the overall experience is one of elegance and finesse. Very tidy.

Wonderful chardonnay, ageing beautifully and still fresh lemony characters.

Wine-Ark Cellar Club Tasting 6 - June 2011, Tapanappa, Torbreck (Roof Terrace Australian Museum): Colour: Lemon green, medium minus intensity, clear, light tearing
Nose: Clean, stone fruit: nectarine and peach. Toast and spice. developing
Mouth: Toasty oak and cream dominate stone fruit which means it’s too young or just out of balance.
