As has been every bottle from various vineyards from this producer in 2008, this was bottle was cloudy, and the palate was on the sour side. V disappointed that it’s been every single bottle. Just have two Champolle Musigny left to examine, but fear the worst.

Medium red color, aromas took a couple of hours airtime to develop. Earthy mixed cherry fruit with spice and minerals on palate. Medium long finish. Much better than anticipated. Enjoyed by all.

Gevrey-Chambertin night at Maison Dakota. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, garnet colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of mushroomy earth, dried prunes, dried red and black cherries, rocky stones minerality. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), rough medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of spice, pruney black cherries, savoury mushrooms, rustic earth. Medium+ finish. Very good quality. Going quite tertiary already and fruit getting a little tired. Time to drink up already.

Medium Ruby. The proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove; power and finesse. Burnt dark cherry and all types of earthiness--leather, barnyard, tar and maybe even a little floral; almost barolo like Real structured with a concentrated, velvety mouthfeel. Man, this was good.

Nearly clear crimson in the glass, with some cloudiness in the final two pours due to some sediment. Absolutely beautiful floral notes on the nose that compel you to taste (why would you not?), with ripe strawberry and…new sneakers? On the palate the predominate note is tart cranberry accompanied by earthy barnyard and mushroom. Medium-minus body, medium tannins, and a cutting acidity that is accompanied by oak on a medium finish.
