Poured to a dark cherry red. The initial nose was overwhelmingly spice, particularly pepper. As the spice faded, the tart cherry, rhubarb and red fruits came to the front. Very smooth and probably ready to drink.

This was drunk over two days. On the first day it seemed closed down, with cherry on the nose and tart cherry, cranberry, rhubarb, and black fruit on the palate. On the second day it had evolved somewhat, with some light spicy notes of black tea and black pepper, with strong acidity and no noticeable tannins. I paid a little under $70 for this, and it was a below average value at that price; other vintages must be much better, or they would be a poor value at the $120+ I see them selling for.

While this is quite young and primary, there is pretty and concentrated red and black fruit with flecks of earth and mineral. With time, this opened up, with more perfumed masculine Chambolle fruit emerging. It is a wine with a fine sense of balance. This certainly would benefit from a few more years of cellar time or a few hours in the decanter. This is somewhat New World in style but certainly Burgundian. I would describe this wine as "polished", and thus it may not suit the old school Burg purist. I did enjoy this in light of its hedonistic style.

Pretty nose, as Chambolle-Musigny should be, but the fruit concentration doesn't seem enough to balance the wine.
This is confirmed on the palate. Plus the savoury lack of fruit sweetness is a bit of a surprise.
Too young? Certainly it will be better with age. That said, with the flush of youth gone the wine is showing its true colours – this will never be great, as it lacks the necessary core of fruit intensity.
Despite the pretentious bottle this comes across as well made, not forced, extracted. However, the raw grape material was not stellar. So the wine is over priced.
13.5%. cork.

I had never heard of this vineyard before. A nicely composed 2008 Burgundy with the expected spicy red fruits, nice earthy elements and a floral elegance to it. Tough price point here, but a pretty nice wine.
