  • Drunk over 2 days.Opened 2 hours before serving on day one when it was still a little austere.Really opened up on day 2 with black fruit coming through.A pleasant if unremarkable drink which will hold for a few years yet but unlikely to improve much.

  • Decanted two hours. The nose on this is excellent with scents of violets and a little herbs and roasted meat coming through. The wine is remarkably youthful for a villages wine still showing a lot of primary high tone fruit. Black cherry, plum mixed with a little garrique emerge. Some may find this a little overdone but it’s pretty well balanced and has plenty of acidity and I found it very enjoyable.

  • This is in great shape now. The nose is beguiling strawberry and herbs with nice definition. The wine is a medium red-garnet and opens with a very high toned fruit style with sappy notes of cherries, strawberries, sous bois and spice coming through. This is very vibrant and a little in your face but in a very good way. The wine is nicely balanced with a good avid backbone and a nice finish. It is still young although perhaps at its early maturity plateau as the tannins are modest at this point and well integrated into the wine. For a village gevrey this is outstanding.

  • A really solid village, albeit crafted in a more obvious, more extracted style. It has a really expressive nose, with fragrant toasty spices, red berries and black cherries, a touch of raisin aromas, all this topped with just a touch of green, whole cluster stem notes - really attractive, if rather obvious. The palate had a really solid sense of depth and presence for a village, with a intensity that can only come from the old wines beating through the heart of its red berry and cherry flavours - all this framed by a solid structure of firm, chewy acidity and tannins leading into a juicy finish. This still clearly needs a few years in the bottle, but it was a really impressive showing.

  • Still very acid, will require many more years ... if ever ....
