Beautiful red, bright, with smoke, anise, white pepper, red berries, red cherries on the nose. It's a mid-weight Pinot, nice mouth weight, flavorful cherry, with some pepper spice, licorice, and a long, slightly bitter finish. I like the Peay's acidity a bit more than the Cep in comparison, but it's a great wine, and definitely a value. Sonoma Pinot is something I like quite a bit, a bit more American than the Oregon style in some ways.

The nose is very Sonoma Coast. Palate has a mineral bitterness on the palate that's interesting but not that much to my liking. 85-86 points for now. Could be interesting as it matures.

Ruby color to the rim. Nose of black cherry, blackberry. Good acidity, not much noticeable tannin, ready to drink now, would not hold this in the cellar. Good with food (salmon burgers).

It used to be something of a hush-hush matter that this was Peay's second label, but it's all over the web now. This is perhaps the best value in under $30, made by talented winemakers with some amazing fruit that just wasn't quite up to the standards of Peay's bottles. Quite young, quite spicy, with raspberry, orange peel, clove, and allspice aromas and flavors. As the wine opened there were minerals, cinnamon, and herbal notes, too. Will reward some patience or aeration. Very complex for the price.
