Community Tasting Notes (2) Median Score: 92 points

  • Blind Taste: Smells great, like the freshly cut grass of a Loire Sauvignon Blanc. Then on the first sip the smoke hit me and engulfed my mouth. This would be a real challenge for a food pairing. Once it dissipated there was a wine with no acidity and some rich viognier-like character - totally different from the nose. This is a very critical score I admit but I just don't like smoke flavors in my white wine, a bit of oak is fine but not a forest fire! Perhaps this was an off bottle since I cannot imagine that the producer would want such a flavor profile.
