Gorgeous golden color. The nose is the best part with a deep flinty, sulfer breath that goes on and on. The palate had some weight to it more along the lines of Chardonnay then Riesling. Dry through the mid palate but a little sour on the finish.

Absolutely lovely, in an off-dry style. It’s a bit quiet on the nose at first, but then it starts to open up to reveal some honey scent. The minimal sweetness is fully balanced by the mouth-watering acidity; this almost tastes like a Sweet-Tart, and it gets even more tangy and succulent with every glass. On the palate, I taste some melon and apple (reminiscent of the Chateau Carbonnieux from Bordeaux). My own rating is two or three points higher than the professionals usually give Sparr's Grand Cru Brand, but I just think they’re wrong on this one. This is a great value, too, given its relative complexity ($24).

Komplex men bränd och vattnig i munnen. På väg utför.
