  • My last bottle of the 2000, the four years since the last bottle I noted hasn't changed anything. Disappointing, with the "upon release" aromatics faded, showing monolithic and hard to coax much out of. Too bad, as several bottles right out of the gate were very nice, just didn't age well for my palate.

  • Very aromatic nose of dark cherries and some herbalness--very Oregon. On the palate this has bigger fruit than I would have expected, tending a little bit towards Californian, but with good acidity keeping it well to the good side of over the top. There are some tannins lingering and coating the back palate on the finish. This does a fair job marrying ripe new world fruit with Burgundian structure, but it's still more brash than elegant.

  • Wow has this rounded out. Not the brawny monster it was in it's youth, this is now a black-cherry bomb. Slightly crunchy, but definitely on the hedonistic side right now. It'll be interesting to see whether this has any furthewr evolution left within itself. Will probably try again next Thanksgiving.

  • Initially quite tight with tannins dominating. After an hour or so it really starts to open up, however, and takes on the lovely Oregon Pinot flavors and nose one hopes for.

  • Disappointing. Promising aromas of dark red fruit and earth give way to a dry palate, with a tough finish marked by hard tannins and some oak. I recall this showing much better on release, but not giving much pleasure at all right now.
