I bought this a couple years ago during the festival on the banks of the Douro in Regua as it was a stand out for any of the white Ports I tried. 19% ABV. The color is a dark copper orange and it's now starting to throw a noticeable sediment. Sweet apple, apricot, and lychee nose. Viscous apricots, dried rose pedals, and sweet vanilla dominate in the mouth. There is a very slight warming sensation and spice on the long sweet finish. A non-vintage white Port unlike any I've had, and one that clearly shows some age to it, though I have no idea what that age is. Just fantastic. 92 Points

Deep golden yellow color. Rich, somewhat boozy and slightly oxidative nose with complex aromas of roasted nuts, peach-driven stone fruits, some roasted spices, a little bit of honey, light notes of hay and a hint of dried exotic fruits. The wine is full-bodied, sweet and super-juicy with intense flavors of peach jam, honey, apple marmalade, some dried pineapple, a little bit of vanilla and a hint of alcoholic thinner character. The wine is only medium in acidity, yet relatively fresh for such a big and sweet wine. the finish is rich, warm and quite lengthy with intense and pretty sweet flavors of honey, ripe apricots, fruit salad syrup, some oxidative nuttiness, a little bit of beeswax and a hint of vanilla. The alcohol lends some warmth to the aftertaste.
I rarely enjoy White Ports (excluding age-designated wines) because they are very rarely suitable for anything else than Port & Tonic. On their own too many of them are just flat, dull and way too boozy, smelling and tasting more like paint thinner than wine. For this reason this wine really took me by surprise: it certainly shows some alcohol character, but overall this wine shows much more freshness and complexity than your typical White Port; the wine feels very balanced and the somewhat oxidative, complex fruit flavors nicely mask away most of the boozy aguardente character. I'm sure that you could do some world class Port & Tonics with this wine, but this is one of those rare NV White Ports that offer a lot of pleasure even on their own. Very nice!

Bouquet of hard apple cider, pear, white Madeira-like notes, spice, and florals. Smells as if it will be dry, but it features pleasant sweetness. Rich and rounded, very good acid and finish. Very good quality. 89-90.
