  • Solid showing. Purple fruit depth, loamy aromatics. Served from Magnum at larger gathering so detailed note not taken. Felt to be in a nice drinking window and had better structure than an earlier 750 of the same wine...got love those mags.

  • After having tried the '08 Cote Est and Rocheux at a recent dinner, decided to open the Serendipity at home. First time I've had this bottling. Purchased from same source as other '08s in the cellar so storage was consistent but this didn't have the pop of the others. Softer red fruits, a touch stewed/past peak. More limpid, mellow, softer. Red fruits led vs. darker complexion of some of the LCV bottlings. I have one more in Mag. May look to get after it earlier in its life that I initiatially thought needed.

  • tasted the '08 Cote d'Est the night before .... head / shoulders better than that ... this had more structure, flavor and just a deeper wine experience ... a great bottle of wine!

  • Last tasted April, 2017, this offering is clearing starting to show signs of decline at 10 years but is still enjoyable.

Served pnp from magnum, this wine is deep ruby in color and showed secondary aromas of forest floor, rhubarb and spices. The primary aromas are still there but fading. The mouth feel was plush, structured yet silky smooth with added smoke and more dark fruits. The finish lingered on with defined cocoa and a tad hint of sweet fruit.

Purchased at retail directly from Tom Mortimer of Le Cadeau during his November, 2013 visit at a wine dinner in Wilmington, DE at the wine bar I founded, this wine is showing its age. Serendipity is a one-off bottling from the 2008 vintage that features Tony Rynders (formerly of Domaine Serene) as the winemaker. Tony collaborated with Le Cadeau during the period of his litigation with the Evenstads of Domaine Serene. They only made 3 barrels (75 cases) of this wine.
