  • Past it's prime. Lean in color and fruit glycerin leggs persist after all the years This was a tremendous wine in ca 2003!

  • This bottle took a little while to open up after decanting. There is still a nice tannic finish and some flavors of black cherry and licorice, but the hit across the palate was a bit thin. The bouquet remains rich with a solid earthiness. After decanting for about an hour, however, it opened up with a nice bold, ripe, tannic follow through. In essence, this wine has seen better days. So if you have some of the 1999 left, I'd advise to drink now, decant it for at least an hour and have it with a rich, Italian meal. With that, it should not disappoint.

  • Quite a fruity bouquet. Great balance of fruit. Solid hit of blackberries with a quality tannin finish. This wine has aged very well and is much better now than when it was first tasted 2-3 years ago. It has developed more complexity and is quite a good wine at this point. Highly recommended.

  • Strong bouquet of fruit and earthiness. Smoky and spicy flavor impacted the fruit. Wine opened up on the second glass and became more complex with more berry fruit.

  • Unfortunately, this wine seemed a little thin. It was light-to-medium bodied with his of plum, dried cherry, and tar. There was a hint of spice and flowers on the nose. Maybe, it had just passed it peak.
