I know we were supposed to drink this a couple of years ago, but.... It is still delightful - crisp clean and lots of tiny bubbles (really tiny). Everything I expect in a J sparkling. Doesn't seem as yeasty as the vintage brut or magnums - which was fine as we paired with an asparagus souffle. Lots going on.

Yummy. Incredibly crisp. Apple dominate but some peachy/apricot essence as well. Light yeast. Tight firm bubbles. little bite on the finish. I think this is absolutely delightful but feel it is missing a little something otherwise it would have a higher rating.

Just a wonderful sparkling. You can definitely taste the difference between the late disgorged and the vintage brut. Definitely more complex. I will be getting more of the LDs from J!

This is the second J Late Disgorged 1998 I had in about a month, and now I wish I had more. The winery's highest end sparkling, to my knowledge, is very much worth the extra price. Wonderful notes of mineral, toast, even a little earth, vibrantly acidic, and a full mouthfeel for methode champenoise. Just a very enjoyable domestic sparkler. These are not made to age as they have, in essence, aged already at the winery on the lees from the secondary fermentation.

Great champagne - smooth, complex, yet crisp with nice fruit flavors
