Chambolle 1er Blends (Chicago + Zoom): Single blind 10/07/06. Similar in character to L1 (the 2010) with spicy, musky cherry but not as intense or delineated. The palate is a wine at peak with nice brightness and lift from the minerality. Texturally complex though doesn't quite have the grip of the 2010, showing more resolved and at peak in that regard. L3 (2006) showed very 2006 so was relatively easy to place this as the 2007 (though I might have thought it 2008, however that vintage was corked and eliminated).

Chambolle-Musigny "Declassified" 1er Cru Tasting (Chicagoland IL): In 06/07/08/10 vertical. Complex array of black, blue and red berry aromas with earth and spice. Similarly complex flavors, just showing medium+ concentration, and probably more maturity. I prob liked this more than did others tonight.

Ripe red, black and blue berry aromas with earth, spice and floral hints. Slightly riper on palate with good weight and similar overall character. Starts out lush, but finishes with bright minerally textures that are classically Chambolle. Even better tonight than the last bottle from two years ago.

Black and red cherry with some blacker berry hints. Faint background baking spice with emerging earth character on finish. Good weight and length, very good balance. I think this might have been slightly better/ brighter a year or two back, but still charming. Best to enjoy over the next 3-4 years.
