APPEARANCE: Straw yellow. AROMA: Asparagus and pear. Somewhat tight nose. TASTE: Very thick viscosity. Almost too much weight. Might go well with food, but a little heavy by itself.

Tasted at the winery from bottle. Moderate aroma, floral. On the palate: clean, fresh, lemon, apple, white peach and pepper. Very straight. Harvested middle of October. Managing director Fraz-Josef Gansberger says of this wine "easy to drink but hard to walk"..."consumers in Austria want very young, fresh wines". Very dry, 1.9 residual sugar. According to Stadt Krems enologist Frtiz Miesbauer "there has been a trend among some vintners to make Grüner Veltliner taste like Sauvignon Blanc...grüner should not be an aromatic grape, it should be spicy, dry, mineral". - this is definitely just that. Superb value.
