  • Deep garnet in color. Nose of dark cherries with hints of leather and espresso. Tastes of dark cherries, strawberries, dark chocolate, and hints of leather. Lovely wine with a great balance and mouthfeel. In a wonderful spot to drink but should evolve nicely over the next 5-7 years.

  • Prior bottle was 12 months ago and the wine continues to show well, but still need 3+ hours open to show its best. Nose is bit softer with black cherry, light leather and spices along with some floral qualities. Between medium and full bodied with black cherry upfront and adding some plum notes through the middle. The mid-body shows elegance and silkiness, but not quite as much depth as previously. Tart black cherry along with some tart red cherry highlights towards the back along with tannins and structural acidity. As the mid-body fruit had a touch less depth, the acidity towards the back was corresponding a touch more noticeable. The wine overall is still in a very good spot and should drink well over the next couple of years. This wine should be drunk sooner rather than later because it won't get any better and it is coming slightly down from peak.

  • I had 2 of these. I had the first one a month ago and gave it a 93. This one is oxidized and maderized. No acidity. Nutty aromas. No tannin. Kind of like having port with my dinner.

  • Prior bottle was only five months ago and normally I would've waited, but this was part of a mini-vertical of '05, '06 and '07 and it showed just as well as I'd hoped. Black cherry, spices, leather and floral notes on the nose. Between medium and full bodied and took about three hours to full open up, showing black cherry upfront, darker black cherry and plum through the middle and then tart black and red cherry along with tannins and acidity through the finish. Mid-body has retained its depth and silkiness and the wine 's overall balance continues to be a strength. Should be able to hold this level for at least another year or two, but it won't get better and now is clearly the time to drink and enjoy this impressive and under recognized wine.
