Opaque ruby. Bright, youthful, and spicy nose of cocoa, blackberry, cinnamon, lavender, and beef bouillon. Beautifully balanced with flavors of blackberry, spice, baked boysenberry, cinnamon, and butter.

Slow ox'd a couple of hours before serving. Inky purple color. The nose shows a good mix of black and red fruit with some cured meat and olive brine. Full bodied. This eases itself on the palate with tart plum, grapefruit and tart berries. Some savory components manifest at the back of the palate and leaves you wanting more. High acidity, concentrated and high intensity. The tannins are pillow soft, and a mineral component shows on the long finish.
This vineyard simply performs. This stands right up with offerings from Gramercy and Amavi. Syrah which tastes like syrah rather than blackberry cobbler with a Graham cracker crust. A producer to jump on.

(Kerloo Cellars Les Collines Syrah Walla Walla Valley) Dark in color. Lightly aromatic on the nose with carob, high-toned violets, lavender, and plum. Perfumed and fleshy on the palate with a dense core of tightly wound fruit speckled with slightly citric acidity. A persistent intensity on the mid-palate. The finish swoops in underneath and sails off into the distance. 100% Syrah. Aged 16 months in French oak (29% new). 14.1% alcohol. 81 cases produced.
