92-93; young & wild Cali pinot with an aggressive nose of forest floor. This wine really needs a few more years, but everything is in place for great things. Big, but still retains hallmark pinot notes.

14.1% ABV. Translucent medium garnet in the glass. Fairly fragrant on the nose with black cherry and a slight green minty funk nuance. Medium bodied with tangy, somewhat savory black cherry and cranberry flavors. Medium finish with some light spice. This was my first Kistler PN, and it's not bad, but it didn't do much to justify the price or the reputation.

OneLastSyrah hit the nail on the head below. This was also my first Kistler experience and came to the same conclusion...

Outstanding balance in the California oaked and fruit-forward style. Jammy without being cloying; a very nice wine.
