Found this well hidden in my wine cellar. Assumed it was well over the hill. Screw cap. Luckily tasted before pouring down the drain. Surprise----nice cherry nose with an earthy, dark cherry, berry taste--and very nice with a copper river salmon filet baked in butter. Chalk it up to a talented winemaker and a good cellar. I have two more---definitely time to drink up if you got'em.

I would opine that this wine is in its waing gibbous phase. After encountering this winery and its Pinots for the first time early in the last decade, I jumped on an email offer for a few bottles a year or two later. Cherry, black currant and cinnamon on the nose; dark fruit, cranberry on the palate; strong mineral finish with a touch of the cinnamon note returning. I plan on finishing my remaining bottles of this vintage up with food by the end of the year.

Initial nose of round cherries that extended to the first part of the taste as well, but this faded after a few minutes in the glass. Some hints of bitterness here and there. Overall short finish. Consistent with previous bottle.

12 year vertical of first 12 vintages that I brought from my cellar. Tasted with Rollin, Corby, my wife, my cousin and spouse, several wine writers and a food blogger invited by Rollin and Corby.

Still holding forth. My red choice with a shrimp gumbo.
