An easy 89. Wonderful color--deep purple. Lively nose. Love the fruit. Very good overall balance. Only complaint is a tiny bit of heat. Great food wine.

When we visited winery we tasted 2009 and really enjoyed it. Bought a bottle to take home which we've already consumed. Based on it's great QPR I looked for some more and found some 2008. Took it to dinner last night. Every bit as good as the 2009. No decant, had with penne arrabiata and it was delightful. Beautiful deep red color, medium body and modest length finish. Nice nose, fruit and al little earthiness. At $23 the QPR is excellent and I am off to buy more. Either 2008 or 2009 will make us happy.

Polished off a bottle with Cornish Hens stuffed with porcini/rice - good pairing. Lively fruit, not too much oak. All around enjoyable.

deep color, medium body, good fruit, integrated tannins. Had with Chicken Cacciatorre and it worked well.

St. Patty's Day Barbera & Birthday Celebration (Weygandt Wines, Cleveland Park, Washington D.C.): Talk about a fractured wine. Alcohol and oak spiked on the nose and both hid any type of fruit or polish on the palate. Not good.
