Decanted 1.5 hours while we drank other things, which helped given the initial taste was rather awkward with oak and alcohol. Magenta darkened by mild sediment. Nose of black cherries and blackberry, plus pepper and a little baking spice. Forward black fruit with some chocolate and pepper in mid. Overall decent, not as interesting as I had hoped given the "show reserve", the vintage and the mild age. Purchased at the supermarket for about 20, which surprisingly is twice as much as others quoted here. The regular JC shiraz is usually 10-11.

Last time I had this was about 2 years ago. I picked up on some secondary flavors this time especially on the palate which is unique for a $10-11 bottle. Still tastes a little cheap to me though, nothing life changing.

Not a fruit bomb like so many other qpr aussie shiraz's. I think it is drinking great now. I will decant it next time because of the sediment.

What a sleeper. Smooth and subtle with spice and dark fruits. A bit of oak but not overpowering.
