Outstanding wine for the value. This Argentinian Tanat may be challenging to find but worth the time. Complex and yet not heavy like Malbec. El Porvenir is an excellent producer.

Superb. Deep ripe sour cherry red, nearly black in the elegantly shaped bottle. Slightly more fruit than the 2005, however, tantalizing on the nose, long on the finish, very well balanced, and opens well after a half hour. Best enjoyed over winter game dishes or an extended evening with close friends. The Tannat grape is often blended due to its high tannin levels, however, Argentina's El Provenir knows how to shape this wine into one of my absolutely favorites. Looking forward to watching it grow over the course of 5-10+ years.

Simply luscious. If you have never tried a Tannat, you should. Imagine blackberry with dark chocolate and a moderate tannic finish.
