From 75cl, short, soaked-though, just adequate cork. Stunning, vibrant Spätlese, with some maturity on the nose (petrol) and lots of hints of what is to come on the entry: Wonderfully pure passion fruit and mango-led tropical fruit-salad sweetness, balanced with zingy acidity and great structure on the mid-palate. 7,5% alc. A brilliant match with Thai curry. Terrific now, years to go, depending how mature you like your Riesling (and how long the cork holds out). 92P

LOF (@ MvG: Riesling): Bouquet with minerals and a firm amount of petrol. On the palate a concentrated wine with white and yellow fruits. Litchi! Fairly full bodied with a beautiful balance between acidity and sweetness.

A very pale yellowish color. A very crisp, explosive nose full of ripe, even tropical fruit: apple, passion fruit, grapefruit, carambola, white flowers and sharp minerality. Pure seduction on the palate: very ripe, very luscious and very concentrated, but not without a very convincing acidic backbone that gives the wine a tremendous lift and posture. Despite obvious sweetness the wine finishes almost bone dry, in a palate-cleansing fashion. Hot year or not, this wine possesses amazing energy and drinkability, and is extremely food friendly. The flavor profile bursts with vivid flavors of ripe apple, sour grapefruit, kiwi and wet stones. Almost mineral water-like (Mesnil-esque!) on the finish. It's wines like this that the bigger bottle sizes exist for.
