  Old tasting note. Nose: Tart red berries like Cornelian cherries. Lavender, too. Mouth: Fried bacon, too.

  I didn't expect this to have lasted or developed but I kept a bottle for three years and it has turned into something far better then previous tastings. A beautiful dark ruby colour with no signs of age. Blackcurrant nose, with hints of violets. Typical Rhone - but mellower with a bit of age - really pleasant and enticing. Mellow taste - strongly savoury, underpinned by prunes and black fruit. Hints of chocolate. Delicious. Still good finish with a mix of tannins and acid. All pretty much the same two days later.

  Pretty light bodied, fruity and easy to drink. Very nicely balanced and very good value.
