Saturday Tasting at The Gourmet Shop Columbia, SC 4/20/2013 (The Gourmet Shop, Columbia, SC): A relatively young, but ready to drink, easy on the palate Tempranillo made in a New World, fruit foward style. Not really designed to age, just enjoy now, preferably at cellar temperature. Deep ruby, but not all that intense color. Jammy, expressive red and black fruit nose. The fruit profile has a credible amount of sophistication while maintaining a muscular youthfullness. There is an earthy, graphite, steeliness to the enhancing secondary flavors that helps us remember where it came from. Some gritty little tannins, and lurking acidity. This would go good with a hamburg, ribeye.

I get a little different vibe than other notes. This is latest vintage, had the '08 and was "ok". This is almost medium bodied, the fruit is a little restained, and is sour cherry and some hints of something darker. Finish is medium length and transitions to light green pepper or vegetal type qualities. The level of acid is medium and tannins are light and smooth. After 30 mins of decant it is getting thinner. I would serve a hint cooler than room temp and DONT decant. Don't keep this for more than a year i would suggest.

lively berry fruits tannins tempered by acidity and softness, a fruit forward new world style. almost thought I was a cab-merlot blend not tempranillo!

A little mudled, but not unlike my own last note and the most recent note with some description.
Comes off a little to much on sour berry side with a little harsh acid and ETOH quality. Will look for the '10, but I wouldn't buy the '09 again.
